Look up whether there is an existing Freddie Mac mortgage for a specific subject property so you can advantage of COVID-19 temporary appraisal flexibilities on eligible refinance transactions. Submit request data to initiate a search of Freddie Mac’s datastore for matching records and receive a response indicator of yes or no and the subject property addresses matching the submitted request data.
Loan Look Up API
What is the Loan Look Up API?
The Loan Look Up API provides an easy way for Freddie Mac clients and development partners to integrate to a service that allows them to look up whether there is an existing Freddie Mac mortgage for a specific subject property.
By submitting request data that includes a borrower’s full Social Security Number (SSN) and the subject property address a search is initiated for matching records to look up whether Freddie Mac currently owns the loan or the loan was a Freddie Mac-owned loan that was paid off in the last 90 days. The service then provides a Yes/No indicator in the response and includes additional details on the matched address for Yes responses.
Use Case: Compete in the Refi Market
Loan Look Up API can help you identify when Freddie Mac owns a mortgage that is being refinanced, allowing you to take advantage of COVID-19 temporary appraisal flexibilities (exterior-only inspections) on eligible no cash-out refinance transactions.
Showcase: Build to Live in 15 Days
Recently, a Freddie Mac client was looking to take advantage of COVID-19 temporary appraisal flexibilities on no cash-out refinance transactions. They knew we were working on the Loan Look Up API and started building it in the developer portal customer test environment (CTE) before it was even available in production. The build and integration were so easy that they were able to go live in just over two weeks, almost immediately after the API was made available in production.
The Income Limits API provides fast, easy access to the Freddie Mac Home Possible® income limits based on a property’s location. By submitting a request using the subject property address, you can receive a response that provides a scrubbed property address, area median income information and the Home Possible income limit.
